GOALS IN EITHER half from Wes Hoolahan and Victor Moses saw Norwich City and Wigan play out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Carrow Road.
Hoolahan opened the scoring for hosts Norwich after nine minutes when he latched on to Simeon Jackson’s cross and scored with a looping volley.
Hugo Rodellaga was the busiest of the Wigan attackers and after a tricky run from Moses the Colombian tested John Ruddy, who saved well to keep Norwich’s lead intact.
After both sides exchanged chances early in the second half, Wigan began to throw men forward in search of an equaliser.
It was a tactic that paid off after 68 minutes when a probing through ball from Shaun Maloney found Moses, whose pace saw him skip past the Norwich defence and around Ruddy before a simple tap-in made it 1-1.
Wigan could have won all three points when more good work from Maloney opened up a chance for fellow substitute Mohamed Diame but his miss from only a few yards away was staggering.
As time wound down there were more chances going to waste from both side but the end result was a fair reflection of a closely fought contest.
