In an interview Katie said she’d like to win the gold for the people of Ireland. In my eyes, she’s a champ whatever way the fight goes this afternoon

  • Yeah I’m dyslexic and I get things wrong . Big deal. Do you also laugh at paralympians?

  • It’s funny how when you point out someone’s spelling on the journal, they always claim they’re dyslexic. Yet it’s only the common spelling errors that they make (too instead of two or there instead of their)

It’s not dyslexia, it’s bad spelling

  • The Katie Taylor hype has gone way overboard. She has performed well enough in her too fights but they were hardly stunning performances and she gets hit too easy. I suppose it is the culmination of years of dominance but its gettting ridiculous when people are calling for her to win the award for the best boxer at the Olympics and saying she is our greatest Olympian. I’d also wonder about the quality of fighters she is facing. The men who are getting into semis and finals might be getting to the top of a much bigger pile, maybe 10,20 or 100 times greater than Katie

    • I’m posting in a personal capacity here, only the irish renters association Facebook page carries all official posts.

I’m sorry but I missed the memo instructing everybody to have the same opinion on this sport event. Green flag fascism out in force, no room for independent, critical analysis here.

Btw best of luck Katie, give here a hemorrhage (joking :)

    • If you’re posting in a personal capacity why do you use the logo and name of Irish Renters – doesn’t sound very personal. I’ve no issue with your opinions, you are quite rightly entitled to express them, though I may not agree with them.

    • Let’s be fair, Irish Renters she can only beat who is put in front of her. You’re entitled to your opinion, but I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. Have you ever done any boxing yourself?. Personally I think her style is technically very solid but still very entertaining to watch.

I think it’s really negative to look at these girls and say well it’s a minority sport you’re not really worthy of accolades or a medal? She trained in a very basic gym with no shower for four hours a day 6 days a week and it shows. Trust me she deserves the praise she is getting.
