SEMPLE STADIUM WILL host this year’s Bord Gáis Energy All-Ireland U21 hurling championship semi-finals on Saturday week August 25th with the GAA having announced today that both games will be played as a double-header at the Thurles venue.
Clare, who were crowned Munster winners in the final last week against Tipperary, will face Ulster champions Antrim at 4pm while Leinster title holders Kilkenny will come up against Galway, managed by senior boss Anthony Cunningham, at 6pm. Both games will be broadcast live on TG4.
Also on that day the All-Ireland junior football final will be contested by Mayo and Kerry in Cusack Park in Ennis at 2.30pm while the Bord Gáis Energy All-Ireland U21B hurling semi-finals will be held in Nenagh between Kerry and Kildare at 3.30pm and in Carrick-on-Shannon between Fermanagh and Roscommon or Mayo at 3.30pm.
Meanwhile the GAA have also announced the referees for this year’s All-Ireland senior football semi-finals with Meath official David Coldrick to take charge of the clash between Cork and Donegal on August 26th while Cavan’s Joe McQuillan will take charge of the game between Dublin and Mayo on September 2nd.
