NOT SINCE THE signing of the Treaty – or even Saipan – has a single issue divided the country this much.

To mark the start of Movember, over a week ago, we brought you the 10 best moustaches in sport. Now after many emails, tweets and comments we bring you the next installment.

    Moustache Style: Miami Vice The League of Ireland legend won league titles at Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne, thanks to his prolific goal-scoring record. He was often flagged for offside however due to his flavour-saver. The Tolka Park crowd still boasts a statistically unlikely number of 'taches.

    Moustache Style: Country and Western The Wexford team of the mid-90s sprouted a few biscuit-ticklers (we previously featured the wonderful Martin Storey). It can't have been hygenic when the Purple-and-Gold supped from the Liam MacCarthy in '96 though?

    Moustache Style: Ladykiller The former BBC and ITV football presenter won the housewives' hearts. But behind the facial hair was a... well, a housewives' favourite. Lynam's tache has since sold several kiss-and-tell stories to a range of mid-market newspapers.

  • Ian Botham

    Moustache style: Readers' Wives Beefy led England's criketers in the 80s and 90s with a swash-buckling style. This well-manicured effort was perfect for those hot afternoons at the stump in Calcutta.

  • Jamie Heaslip

    Moustache Style: Teenage Disco The Ireland second row man is currently cultivating this endearing effort for Movember. Nice one.

  • Merv Hughes

    Moustache Style: Chopper The Australian fast bowler - nominated by reader Stephen Kelly - was a great man for the tucker. He's since appeared on several weight-loss shows Down Under - but has hung onto the tache, thank God.

  • Nigel Mansell

    Moustache Style: Car boot sale Reader Derek Troy was not pleased when the former world champion was omitted from our first gallery. "Seriously, how was Nigel Mansell left out of this list?" he asked, incredulous. Having not slept since this error was made, I'm now happy to give Nigel's ronnie the respect it deserves. Despite having long been shaved off, of course.

    Moustache style: Village People So annoyed was he with this slugger's facial hair, the Oakland A’s owner paid his players to grow similar whiskers, hoping that in losing his individualism, Jackson would shave. The result was the creation of the Moustache Gang. I wish I was in the Moustache Gang

    Moustache style: Duelling Banjos The Cubs relief pitcher was a cult hero for his bushy mustache and on-field demeanor, as well as a 98-102 mile per hour fastball. Proud to call him a Mo' Bro.
