1. #EURO2012 We’re back, baby.

Ireland secured their place in the next summer’s European Championship finals with a workmanlike 1-1 draw at home to Estonia last night.

This is how it happened.

Afterwards, John Delaney hinted that the FAI would now reward manager Giovanni Trapattoni with a new contract.

The seedings for the tournament will be confirmed today – but this is the provisional set-up.

2. #HEINEKEN CUP Marcus Horan is expected to be fit for Munster’s round 2 game against Castres in France this weekend.

Horan was a late withdrawal from the squad with an ankle injury last weekend, allowing Cork Con youngster John Ryan to replace him on the bench for the dramatic 23-21 win over Northampton.

3. #EUROS Elsewhere last night, Portugal, the Czech Republic and  Croatia joined the Boys in Green in the draw on December 2 for the action in Poland and Ukraine.

4. #GOLF Tiger Woods will play Adam Scott in the opening match of the President’s Cup, meaning the former world No 1 will face his former caddie Steve Williams.

The pair have been at the centre of an ugly professional divorce recently.

5. #INGERLAND Embattled skipper John Terry insisted he would never step down as England captain after thanking fans for their support on his return for last night’s 1-0 friendly win against Sweden at Wembley.
