TOTTENHAM MANAGER Harry Redknapp expects the race for Champions League qualification to go down to the wire.
Spurs won their first Premier League game since February on Sunday, beating Swansea 3-1 to draw level on points with third-placed Arsenal in the league standings. Redknapp believes it is too close to call the race for a top-four finish, with Chelsea and Newcastle United also in the hunt with eight rounds to go.
“It’s so tight for third and fourth place,” Redknapp said. Â ”It’s going to be close, I wouldn’t like to call it.
“If we get five wins we will get Champions League football next season, I’m sure of that. Â I would love to get third, I would love to finish above Arsenal if I can.”
The Tottenham manager is adamant his side have been playing well despite going five league games without a win leading into Sunday’s clash with Swansea.
“I haven’t been going home at night wondering how long it’s been since we won,” Redknapp said. Â ”I just know we have been playing well, it’s not been a problem.”
