THE ROAD SAFETY AUTHORITY will distribute around 80,000 high-vis vests to new junior infants pupils across the country. The ESB-sponsored scheme has been launched to remind parents and guardians that road safety is a priority as kids return to school. The RSA says that in 2008, pedestrian deaths accounted for almost a fifth of all fatalities on Irish roads.
