MOSSY QUINN HAS retired from intercounty football after almost a decade in the blue of Dublin.
The St Vincent’s forward confirmed the decision today on Twitter, writing: “It’s been a childhood dream to play for Dublin for last 10 years, but time to go. It was a great journey & I loved every second.”
The full forward — who was the Dubs’ regular free-taker — made his debut in 2003.
Quinn retires with an All-Ireland medal, won in 2011 as Pat Gilroy’s side dramatically beat Kerry in the championship decider, as well as having half a dozen provincial titles.
But he has now decided to make himself unavailable to the new manager Jim Gavin.
