Results:

  • Swansea 0-3 Everton
  • Chelsea 1-0 Stoke
  • Southampton 4-1 Aston Villa
  • West Brom 1-0 Reading
  • West Ham 1-1 Sunderland
  • Wigan 1-2 Fulham

16.09 – Oscar drives into the box and, with Ryan Shawcross stretching out his leg, the Chelsea player goes to ground. Never a penalty and the Brazilian earns himself a yellow card. Possibly a little harsh considering Ivanovic didn’t get one in the first half. Where’s the consistency?

The same player has a shot saved by Begovic moments later.

16.15 – Alex McCarthy keeps West Brom at bay with a terrific stop from James Morrisons’ volley at the Hawthorns.

16.51GOAL! Wigan 1-2 Fulham (Arouna Kone)

A late consolation for the Latics.

17.09 – So Chelsea remain top of the table after a dramatic winner from an unlikely source. Southampton come from behind to register their first points since returning to the top flight and are now out of the relegation places.

Romelu Lukuka’s strike earns highly-flying West Brom a win as Steve Clarke maintains his great start at the Hawthorns, while Fulham hold on to move up to fourth and the Hammers rescue a late point against Sunderland.

That’s my lot but we’ll have all the Premier League talking points on the site shortly. ‘Til the next time!

  • All the games look fairly tight hopefully a few goals today

  • Is it wrong to end your allegiance to a team you supported for 20 odd years?
F**k you Villa, don’t mind losing but to lose in such a defeatist pathetic manner to statistically the worst team in the league :(

    • Dermot, it is wrong and I dont think possible. If you do – you will still sneak a look at the results every week. And if hear some good news you will follow up. How do I know?

I have been a tormented Hammer for 47 years and no matter how hard I tried and how trying it was/is – I kept coming back.

Stick with it, the good days will come back – unless your a Leeds, Forest or Coventry fan (only joking). And when the good days come back – they feel even better.

One of our best days for a few years was winning that stupid Championship play off last season. The club needed to go down, clear out all the deadwood, rebuild, refinance and try again – we went down and it was heart breaking. And with West Ham you just never know from match to match.

I know I will be flamed by glory fans of the “big four” but for all of us outside of these teams, they dont really matter to the rest of the world. You picked Villa, so stick with them Dermot. There will be good days again.

    • Kind of a reactionary comment from me…of course I’ll still be supporting them, it’ll probably lead to a decade of facepalms but I chose to follow them as a gawson so i may continue with it.
