Blackburn Rovers 2-3 Liverpool

20.45 – Interesting fact (to balance out earlier, non-interesting one) — if you rambled down to Dalymount Park once upon an October evening in 2001, you would’ve seen a young Brad Jones in goal for Shelbourne against Bohemian. He played two games for the Drumcondra side while on loan from Middlesbrough… but you knew that, right?

21.16 – Craig Bellamy and Daniel Agger have a bit of a pow-wow over who should take a free-kick. In the end, Bellamy takes and turns back to Agger with a cheeky grin on his face, the only appropriate reaction when you’ve fired the ball into Row Z.

21.37 – Watching Liverpool tonight is pure comedy goal. Frustrated by his inability to score past Paul Robinson (or any of the league’s 18 other goalkeepers), Andy Carroll tries to stick one over Brad Jones’s head. His back-header very nearly creeps under the bar but Jones is alert enough to get back and tip it over.

22.12 – Well that’s all from me this evening. What more could you want on Tuesday evening? Plenty of drama, an equal amount of laughs and a late winner for the £35m man Andy Carroll.

A huge lift for Liverpool ahead of Saturday’s cup semi-final against Everton, but with five games to play, Blackburn still have it all to do if they want to be playing Premier League football next season.

  • I don’t understand why Kenny refuses to play Maxi every week..Maxi must of shat on the driver’s seat of Kenny’s car to be left out time and time again. He doesn’t really like Kuyt either. Insists on playing Downing and Henderson when they are shiiiite!

The only people that will read a Minute by minute report of a game, will be fans of the teams involved.
Other fans won’t be bothered to read it at the time, they may glance at it after the game is over.
If you alienate one of the sets of fans reading your report, chances are, they will leave and get an up the minute report from somewhere else.
As I assume, you want traffic onto the site, taking the Mick out of the club with the biggest support of the 2 teams involved, isn’t going to help with traffic.
I couldn’t see the game last night, I was going to read your report. I gave up almost immediately. As, I’m sure many other fans did.
By your attitude, playing to fans of rival teams, you lost probably the only fans that wanted to read a report as you wrote it.
    That’s your decision.
It’s mine not to bother reading your reports again if you don’t reign yourself in and report in a professional manner.

  • First time seeing liverpool live in a while. Glen Johnson still cant defend and Andy Carroll has the touch of a baby elephant.
Serious clearout needed. Where is all the talent from the youth academy? Only Gerrard in last 10 years.

    • The academy was a shambles up until 2009, when the old guard were shipped out and a new regime brought in. It’s no coincidence that the youth players that are starting to come through now are the ones brought in since then.

The reserve team is managed by Rodolfo Borrell now, he was in charge of youth development at Barcelona. They didn’t do so bad under him. He developed Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas to name a few.

The new young players that he is working with now include Sterling, Suso, Connor Coady, Adam Morgan and Toni Silva, Jordon Ibe and Seyi Ojo.
Robinson, Shelvey and Flanagan have already got themselves into the first team, it must be remembered how young they are.

Sterling especially, is the player that has got most of the fans excited. He’s only just turned 17 and has made his debut a few weeks ago.

It’s easy to criticise the academy for not bringing players through in the past, but all that has changed.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion and your rubbish is duly noted. I have to say that is the worst piece of sports journalism I have ever read. What has happened impartiality. It is clear you are not a Liverpool fan and it shouldn’t be. Liverpool are rubbish and im a fan that’s but that’s not journalism. That is like something of a fans forum or worse the gangland times aka the Sunday world

  • yanno, I’m a big Liverpool fan, travel to see them a few times a year. I praise them when they Olay well – dissect their performance when bad.. it’s the right if every fan… But, I cannot see Kenny there next season… his attics have been wrong so many times.. buying the big man n then both playing narrow OR supplying him with balls from Kuyt or Downing ….. terrible

I see Kenny took another step towards his mental breakdown. Agendas? Conspiracys? Integrity? Please stop Kenny, youre a complete joke at this stage.

Dalglish is a disgrace to himself & the club.
This smart arse sarcastic attitude he has in all his interviews lately is bizzare to say the least. If he doesnt like andy burton why doesnt he refuse the interview besides making a tool out of himself & the club everytime. Hes a PR nightmare for the club, JWH must cringe (like everyone else) when a microphone is put on front of him.
to attempt to walk away during an interview??? Hes a paranoid deluded wreck of a man who is instilling the exact same mentality in the club, thats not a winners mentality, its embarressing & if im not mistaken theres a few senior players there who think the same. Everyone has an agenda against liverpool, hes mentioned conspiracy numerous times in the last few weeks and the new latest buzz word is intergrity refering to referees.
Hes a quack and if thats who liverpool fans want as manager & if hes kept on their next season then prepare for away trips to watford, hull, derby & crystal palace.

    • Again I’ll say it. You always have more to say about Liverpool than united r2d2. Read the post above about the emerging youth policy which is bang on. The bad form is unacceptable at the moment but it will come right. Still light years ahead of where it was 18 months ago.

Emerging talent? I hope its better than the most recent offerings of Flanagan, Spearing (LOL) and Kelly.
I comment on lots of stories on here actually Alan, not just United or LFC ones but as I have said before, for aslong as LFC fans are living in a dream world about where they are as a club I’ll be here to put them right. Would you care to address Kennys issues? Because he has some and its spread to the players.
But in saying that you’ll beat everton at the weekend because you always do & they are spineless in derbys tbh.
Now, back to Tomkins Times or RAWK or whatever bile you read.
Remember, youre still the bestest at Anfield.

  • As a man u fan I hope Jenny stays at pool and drags them
Down to the championship, make no mistake there is no such thing as too big to go down and as soon as JWH realises that he cannot buy his way to the top then he will let them rot in the corner of his portfolio and go back to taking care of the red sox again, look at the glazers at united when they came in there was massive protests and sure were still jot comfortable with them but we have being winning, and fergie gets what he wants without question where as JWH tries to use the billy bean philosophy in football by signing the likes of Henderson and downing and that does not work
