LONG-TIME RACE leader Gediminas Bagdonas (An Post Seán Kelly) held on to his yellow jersey when it mattered the most, claiming  victory by 32 seconds as the 2011 An Post Rás finished in Skerries this afternoon.

The 25-year-old Lithuanian moved into the overall lead following Tuesday’s third stage into Castleisland, adding to his lead with a win on Wednesday.

Bagdonas finished in a group of riders 14 seconds behind the winner of today’s final stage, Irishman David McCann (Asia Giant Kenda Cycling).

It was a good day for the Ukraine ISD-Lampre team who filled out the two remaining podium positions as AnatoliyPakhtusov finished 32 seconds behind Bagdonas with Oleksandr Sheydyk a further 41 seconds back.

Sean Downey (Ireland Team Skoda) finished as the top Irish rider in the general classification standings, coming home 3’14″ behind the yellow jersey in 11th place.
