POLISH RIDER MARCIN BIALOBLOCKI of the Britain Motorpoint team claimed victory in today’s sixth stage as the 2011 An Post Rás journeyed from Blarney to Tramore.

Bialoblocki crossed the finish line five seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, Anatoliy Pakhtusov (Ukraine ISD-Lampre Continental).

Yellow jersey-bearer Gediminas Bagdonas of the An Post-Sean Kelly team retains the overall lead, though his advantage was significantly dented after he crossed the line in a group of six riders who finished 1’54″ back.

Pakhtusov’s time saw him move into second in the general classification standings, just 32 seconds behind Bagdonas with two stages remaining.

Tomorrow’s stage sees the peleton travel 161 kilometres from Tramore to Kildare.
