Couldn’t agree more. The Sunday Independent ran a non-story about it being a disgrace not to hold this just to have a go at the Government despite the athletes saying they didnt want it. What an embarrassment it was. Felt sorry for the athletes who participated fully but didnt deserve this cringe event.
Embarrasing. Dessie is absolutely cringeworthy.
Fair play to the athletes for their achievement, but this is a joke.
Anyone see the ‘pyrotechnics’ at the end, looked like somebody spraying some aerosol cans in the air…….hilarious!
It was great to go out to show my support for the athletes. A great day no matter what the weather.
It was great to see the medal winners of course. Also great to see legends of Olympics past such as Ronnie Delaney, Michael Carruth, Sonia O’Sullivan and Kenny Egan.
It was very emotional listening to the father of Darren Sutherland expressing his feelings about carrying the torch.
There should have been an open top bus from the airport like other great events but Dublin city council know better, waited for a hurricane which had been forecast since Mon.Just one other mess .Congratulations to all the athlets.they deserved better.
And can someone please tell katie taylor to take her hand out of her pocket!
