Home is the hero: Katie Taylor touches down in Dublin

The 25-year-old sealed her fourth world title in a row with a solid 11-7 win over Russian southpaw Sofya Ochigava yesterday.

KATIE TAYLOR WAS given a hero’s welcome when she arrived at Dublin Airport this evening.

The Bray boxer has some extra luggage, of course – the gold medal she won at the world championships in China yesterday morning.

The 25-year-old sealed her fourth world title in a row with a solid 11-7 win over Russian southpaw Sofya Ochigava.

Katie Taylor was her usual CLASS ACT and now hopefully the media will bring more of this amazing talent especially as she has won 3 previous world titles. She has brought women’s boxing into the Olympic Organisation eye and the people who pushed for its inclusion based their arguments on Katies significant presence.
In this uncertain time of austerity she is a beacon of great hope and I so admire her and REALLY hope she gets her just deserts in London. Regardless if we ever needed an ambassador for this country then this is the one.
Amazing person and serious CONGRATS.
