FOLLOWING LAST NIGHT’S Game 2 loss to the Miami Heat, Amare Stoudemire of the New York Knicks reportedly punched a glass case housing a fire extinguisher, opening a cut on his hand that required stitches (via Brian Windhorst of ESPN).

Reports from the locker room said paramedics were called that blood could be seen on the floor. Stoudemire was later seen leaving with his arm in a sling.

The good news for Knicks fans is that Stoudemire injured is left hand, which may allow him to return to action sooner.

Still, no timetable has been given for the injury. And it would seem unlikely that Stoudemire would be able to return in this series. With the Knicks trailing 2-0 in the series, it could mean that Stoudemire’s season is over.
