THE LAST TWO places in the quarter-finals of this year’s Dublin SFC are up for grabs tonight with two fourth round replays pencilled in for Parnell Park.
At 6.45pm, St Pat’s (Palmerstown) will meet Templeogue Synge Street as they bid to face reigning champions St Brigid’s in the last eight after finished all square at 2-11 apiece after extra-time last Saturday
At 8.15pm, Ballyboden St Enda’s meet Kilmacud Crokes after they played out a 2-8 to 0-14 draw last Saturday. The winners of this tie will advance to face St Sylvester’s at the quarter-final stage.
In Donegal members of the county’s All-Ireland winning side will be in action over the next two nights as there are four playoff first-round games on – two tonight and two tomorrow night – which will complete the line-up for this year’s senior football quarter-finals.
Tonight in MacCumhaill Park, Fanad Gaels face Killybegs at 8pm. Their two leg first round games both ended in draws at 1-7 to 0-10 apiece. The other game tonight at 8pm sees Bundoran play Glenfin, the club of Frank McGlynn, in Ardara. Bundoran won the first leg by 2-10 to 0-8 but Glenfin bounced back to win by 2-9 to 1-11 last Sunday.
Tomorrow night in Sean MacCumhaill’s, Paddy McGrath’s club Ardara face Four Masters who can call on Karl Lacey and Paul Durcan at 8pm. Four Masters won the first leg by 0-9 to 0-7 before Ardara triumphed by 0-11 to 1-7 last weekend.
The other clash tomorrow night will see Kilcar, the club of Mark McHugh and Patrick McBrearty, meet St Eunan’s, Rory Kavanagh’s club, in Convoy at 8pm. Kilcar won the first leg by 1-8 to 1-5 while St Eunan’s won last weekend by 1-12 to 1-10. St Michael’s, Glenswilly, Naomh Conaill and Dungloe are already through to the last eight stage.
Also tonight in Celtic Park, the Derry senior football championship semi-final replay between Kilrea and Slaughtneil takes place at 7.30pm. The teams drew 1-13 to 0-16 last weekend with Ballinderry awaiting the winners in the decider.
