YOU KNOW THE drill at this stage — when a player gets called up to the Republic of Ireland squad, they’re expected to stand on a chair and sing a song at dinner as part of their “initiation”.

We’ll never forget poor Shane Duffy’s effort at “Buttercup” but last night it was the turn of Sunderland midfielder David Meyler who impressed us with a leftfield choice in Uncle Kracker’s 2001 classic “Follow Me”.

Could he pull it off?
