Hey, Hollywood! If you’re making a film, Bradley Cooper wants to be Lance Armstrong

Maybe Jennifer Lawrence could play Betsy Andreu?

US ACTOR BRADLEY Cooper says he would love to play Lance Armstrong amid reports of a planned film biopic of the disgraced former Tour de France champion.

Speaking to BBC this morning Cooper, who received an Oscar nomination for his role in Silver Linings Playbook, said he is fascinated by the Texan.

“I remember thinking, that would be a great character, I’d love to play that character,” Cooper said. “I would love to do something, I think he’s pretty fascinating.”

In a two-part television interview with Oprah Winfrey last week Armstrong publicly admitted that he used performance enhancing drugs and blood transfusions to win seven Tour de France titles from 1999 to 2005. He was stripped of the titles last year and given a lifetime ban following a lengthy USADA investigation into widespread doping practices on his US Postal Service cycling team.

Paramount Pictures and Lost director JJ Abrams are reportedly planning to produce a biopic based on an upcoming book by New York Times journalist Juliet Macur, titled Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong.

Cooper didn’t feature on our initial cast list for the planned movie but we’re open to the suggestion. Maybe Silver Linings Playbook co-star Jennifer Lawrence could play Betsy Andreu?
