THE PHILADELPHIA 76ers beat the Boston Celtics 82-75 last night to send the NBA’s Eastern Conference semi-finals to a decisive Game 7.
Jrue Holiday bagged 20 points and Elton Brand weighed in with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds for the 76ers, as the trend continued of neither team managing consecutive wins in the series.
Paul Pierce had 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Kevin Garnett managed 20 points and 11 boards for the Celtics. But they were let down by 17 turnovers, 33 percent shooting accuracy and a woeful return of three conversions from 14 three-pointer opportunities.
After posting just 33 points in the first half, the 76ers hit 27 points in the third term to take a four-point lead, stretching it to 11 before comfortably closing out the win.
Philadelphia’s victory means the series will now go back to Boston for the deciding seventh game on Saturday.
